Coordinative meeting - Forming VRPM group

Forming VRPM (Virtual/Rapid Prototyping/Manufacturing) group

At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, on 4th July, 2011, the coordinative meeting was held with the aim to form VRPM (Virtual/Rapid Prototyping/Manufacturing) group. Prof Dr Vesna Mandic, the coordinator of CTC and WBC-VMNet project, opened the meeting and greeted the leader of ICIP project Dr Jürgen Henke, expert Dr Thies Wittig, representative of SECEP project Vita Latinovic - Nenadic as well as all the present SMEs representatives. In her introductory speech, she emphasized the significance and necessity of cooperation between academic and business sector for the sake of improvement and development of new technology. In addition, she brought out the objectives of this meeting.

The introductory speech was followed by presentations, first of which was held by Dr Jürgen Henke on the subject of competitiveness development of SMEs in Serbia. Afterwards, Prof Dr Vesna Mandic presented the importance of applying VRPM technology in innovative product development, which was followed by short presentations of SMEs. At the end, Dr Thies Wittig and Prof Dr Vesna Mandic gave the overview of EU funds which finance the SMEs development.
As the result of this meeting, VRPM group was formed. This group will operate within the accepted action plan. The common benefits are numerous, and the effects of successful joint cooperation from the ideas to the innovation are long lasting.
